Ive been looking at a few sites (overclockers.com, tomshardware.com hardocp, etc) and read through their homemade water cooling systems. Since I figured the cost of some different parts combined is much less than buying a kit, i was wondering if you could use different parts from different kits to make a homemade kit.... Like waterblocks from one company, a radiator from another and etc.

yeah that is right. WBS include : WC, pump, Radiator, rack, rubber pipes
WC can be for CPU, VGA, Chipset.

so i CAN mix parts... sweet. Oh and is there an alternative to thermal paste/thermal tape? It is going to be used for a north bridge on a motherboard but im not going to use thermal tape/paste since i got the comp off the street for free and it has all the parts, i just am putting one HS on the chip... Can i use something like CA glue? or should i use something less permanent?

Machine you own water block from a block of copper ( or buy one :p ) ....get a heater core from a auto parts shop some tubing form any hard ware store and the only prob. left is a good pump.....

A good pump? How about a pump that does 360G/s! only 12.99 too Ill probably just buy a radiator from a comp shop, my local hobby shop sells fuel line for rc cars which'll work, since I don't have the right tools for a waterblock ill just get a cheap one.

Bear in mind you don't want high pressure pipes between components. You increase chances of leaks quite considerably by using very thin pipes. Some simple physics for you:

    Pressure = force / area

When force of the pump is constant, and the area is getting smaller (smaller radius of the pipe the smaller the surface area of the inside of the pipe (obviously)) pressure increaces. The higher the pressure is, the more force is applied per unit area (as per the description above), therefore any flaws in the pipes or weak points in the system will have more force applied to them, increacing the chances of those points failing.

Common weak points in any system are the connections between components.

Also, test each component by itself with the pump before you assemble them. Each component will have its own "resistance" to water being driven through it, you need to make sure your pump can take it. It doesn't matter how fast the pump is, if it doesn't have the power required to push it through the components you'll be messed.

the fuel tube is strong enought to withstand like 20 pounds of pressure... I think thats what it was... maybe more, it will be strong enough...

Also ive got a buddy who wants to get a water cooling KIT, like one from Thermaltake or Coolermaster or kingwin etc.... Hes got an AMD Athlon XP 2800+, 1Gig of Corsair XMS 3200 RAM, 40GB hard drive, and a geforce 5200 (agp) and he's looking for a kit in the low 100's that'll be good for gaming and OC'ing... He folds too but i dont think he runs it 24/7.... I was going to tell him to get the ThermalTake Big Water for $130(shipping included) any other suggestions? I know kingwin makes one for like $90, but i wasn't sure what you'd say. Any suggestions? I dont think he cares if he gets a GPU cooler... he had another in mind anyways...

Ive got my watercooling system set fine (getting all the stuff from crazypc.com)

Oh, long time no see goldfish!

Was gonna edit, but i waited too long D:. Anyway my friend said he'd leave his watercooling system up to me so, i was thinking TT big water kit (he has a seperate gpu cooler, danger den) and he has 9 feet of hose (got it off crazypc.com, i dont know why he has it  ) Anyway, I was probably going to tell him to also get an 80mm radiator somewhere down the lines.. probably a swiftec... sounds about right?

bad idea on the fuel line you whant ~ half inch tubing more flow not hi press the water dont need to be moving fast but thare does need to be a good bit of it ..fast moving water is pointless the water cant absorb the heat that fast .....best settup is lots of flow under min. psi ....I tryed sealing off a reguler heatsink and using it as a water block but the project got droped due to $ probs....but the idea seams sound to me....and it whould solve the prob of mounting too ....

Ok i found a good pump, its one from the bigwater kit pump and reservoir only for 30 bucks, new. So i bought it... Ive got 2 radiators, a waterblock and i just ordered some tubing from crazypc! It'll be here in 2 weeks though... Going on vacation saturday for 1 week so i told them to hold off on shipping it.

Abit less, but more hassel to get everything together. The Thermaltake Bigwater seems to have a end of stock rush. $155 in Australia for everything you need to water cool your PC. Mind you it's winter here.

    for an experience question :
what do you think if we put the radiator before WC or after WC ?
    What we get and lose?
which is the best ? :D

You want your radiator just before the water returns to the water block (for the cpu) and then if you have it cooling more than one item then to north bridge cooler, and then video cooler. I have found it works best for me in that order. tried it several different ways this is best for my set up anyway. ;)

Back from vacation!!! Yay, its good to be back!

Anyway... I was looking at the danger den black ice micro and micro II radiators and im thinking on maybe buying one. The thing i was wondering though was would 2 black ice micros cool better than one micro II, I mean like set up 2 micros, one before the waterblock and one after... My setup for now, i only have a CPU waterblock, TT bigwater pump, TT bigwater reservoir and 3-4 80mm fans just waiting to be installed.

The point I was trying to make is high pressure means you're more likley to have a leak due to your connections being weak.. The lower the pressure the less likely your connectors are to break. And the higher the flow (less restriction) the better the cooling.

I know, im making a homemade gpu cooler. Its a soda can bottom, from overclockers.com, it works pretty well... If that leaks during a test then ill just pickup a danger deng gpu cooler... Right now the setup works great, my temps are around 30C idle and 40C under load...

A nice t*, I have been modded my WB system on my A64.
CPU t* at 34 fulload at 42*, VGA at 32*, Chipset at 33*
I will take some pictures later

Wow, im suprised to say that that soda can bottom works pretty good actually... Im able to overclock my card to 329 Core Clock (standard is 250) and 560 Memory clock (standard is 400) and it runs at about 35-40C under load....

    Here for Vga and others...

Case server was built with 3 horizontal fans 120mm at the middle case so all things like Mobo and HDD PSU, and so on they will be cooled
radiator with 2 fans 120mm, WC for CPU, VGA, Chipset were made in my country,
