I've come across it before that after changing my homepage back to google it gets changed back like 5 minutes later but whatever this is, its stuck at res://shdocnv.dll/blank.html and it doesnt give me the option of writing a new one. any suggestions? normally system restore fixes this stuff but for now thats not an option seeing as i was reading i should disable it for a while, while disinfecting as viruses can hide there

    Please follow the steps below:

    - Run ALL the steps in this Sticky thread READ ME FIRST BEFORE ASKING FOR SUPPORT: Basic Spyware, Trojan And Virus Removal

Make sure you check version numbers and get all updates.

    - Very Important: Make sure you tell us the results from running the tutorial...was anything found? Were you unable to complete any of the scans?...Were you unable to download any of the tools?...Did you do the on-line scans as suggested? etc.

After doing ALL of the above you still have a problem make sure you have booted to normal mode and run the steps below:

    - Download HijackThis 1.99.1

    - Unzip the hijackthis.exe file to a folder you create named C:\Program Files\HJT

    - Do NOT run Hijack This from the Desktop, a temp folder, or a sub-folder of C:\Documents and Settings, or choose to run it directly from the downloaded ZIP file.

    - Before running HijackThis: You must close each of the following:your web browser, e-mail client, instant messenger, and programs like notepad, wordpad, MS Word etc. And any other unnecessary running programs.

    - Run HijackThis and save your log file.

    - Post your log as an ATTACHMENT to your next message. (Do NOT copy/paste the log into your post).

Now that was helpful, i didn't have a clue what use it was when i did the online rav antivirus scan, it seemed bogus because it wouldnt fix them but i have the results, here they are as an attachment, there are so many there I can't imagine what could fix them all! I attached a hijack this log aswell.
i didnt do the bitdefender one yet but theres enough to worry about here!

    thanks for your help.

oh and last time i was online i apparantly was sending lots of spam and loads of symantec popups came up informing me my email was spam and that it wouldnt be sent (I have an old norton antivirus but its way outdated now). its not happening now, possibly because im not logged into msn messenger now i have no idea. anyway thanks again!

Running the BitDefender scan (and the rest of the READ ME FIRST steps) are not optional. Please run them all. And make sure you do the steps in Safe Mode as requested. If you cannot run the online scans in safe mode then run them in normal boot mode but make sure you tell us which was used. Many more things can be fixed when run in safe mode.

You have a very bad HSA hijacker infection. Make sure you also run the steps in the READ ME FIRST related to HSA (including about:Buster and HSremove). Make sure you stop and disable the below service per the READ ME FIRST instructions:

    O23 - Service: Workstation NetLogon Service ( 11Fßä#·ºÄÖ`I) - Unknown owner - C:\WINDOWS\craz32.exe

    You also have PSGuard problems.

ok, sorry i didnt stop the workstation net logon service before but it had a capital L in the Logon so i decided to leave it. Ive followed all the steps now, except running adaware because it won't install, every time i click finish it says error and that it will close. my homepage is now stuck at something else now and norton antivirus is telling me im infected with "Bloodhound.W32.EP". ive attached the logs of rav antivirus . I had to go offline midmessage because a window appeared " symantec window proxy email message unable to be sen.... message is like spam. please go to http://noc. masterhost.ru/rbl/(#5.3.0) ... ill go to that address now, hope it will help, the window comes up over and over. I ran the steps that i could, but couldnt do the scans on rav and bitdefender in safe mode and like i said adaware wont work.

Were you able to run BitDefender in normal bootmode? I would like to see its log. You are badly infected and I'm hoping some of these tools will help to make final cleanup a lot easier.
Run BitDefender if you have not and then post its log. Also let's try the below, they can also help get rid of a load of bad stuff.

    1) Download TrojanHunter

    2) Install TrojanHunter, At the end of the install setup will prompt you to update definitions. Please do so!

    3) Once installed and updated, select drive C:\ and do a Full Scan. Remove all found infections.

See if you can save a log from it so I can see what happened.

Let's see if we can cleanup some more hidden baddies.

    - First run CCleaner before doing the below.

    - Download this trial version of Ewido Security Suite
    • Install ewido security suite
    • Launch ewido, there should be an icon on your desktop double-click it.
    • The program will have a window come up. One of the buttons on the left is to Update. Click the Update button.and then Start the Update. The update will start and a progress bar will show the updates being installed.
    • After it completes the update, click the Scanner button

Now exit Ewido. Now print the below instructions or save them locally because I want you do have no browsers opened and also have no connection to the internet (unplug your cable) while doing the below.

Okay, reboot into safe mode and follow the steps below. (If you have any problems at all trying to get into safe mode to complete these steps, just run them in normal boot mode and make sure you tell me when you come back.)

Open up Ewido and do the following:

    • Click on Scanner
    • Then click Settings
    • Under What to Scan? Select Scan every file
    • Then click OK
    • Click on Complete System Scan and the scan will start.
    • Let the program scan the machine
While the scan is in progress you will be prompted to clean files that are infected. Leave the defaults selections (to Remove and backup) and click OK. To save yourself some time, you can select Perform action with all infections and then click OK. With the option to scan every file, a lot of cookies will be removed.

Once the scan has completed, there will be a button located on the bottom of the screen named Save report

    • Click Save report
    • Save the report to your desktop or anyplace you will be able to find it to upload here.
Reboot into normal mode and reconnect to the internet.

Come back here and post the Ewido Scan Report.

Also let's see if we can work on the PSGuard problem too:
Download smitRem.exe and save the file to your desktop.

Double click on the file to extract it to it's own folder on the desktop.

    Reboot into safe mode.

Open the smitRem folder, then double click the RunThis.bat file to start the tool. Follow the prompts on screen. Wait for the tool to complete and disk cleanup to finish.

The tool will create a log named smitfiles.txt in the root of your drive, eg; Local Disk C: or partition where your operating system is installed. Please attach this log to your next reply.

Also post a HijackThis log attachment. You will need to post all of these logs in a couple of messages. Only two attachments can be added to any one message.

yeh bitdefender was run in normal boot mode, i tried to post it last time but im only after figuring out how to save it as a .txt file. i ran that trojanhunter as instructed, it got like 1071 files out that were infected. i couldnt save the first log because my computer froze so the log for trojanhunter is for the second scan of all files in safe mode. i have ewido security suite installed and ill post its log too. ive yet to run that smitRem.exe but ill get round to it tomorrow. seein those infected files remove gave me a great buzz!

No! We do not get paid! We do this for free and on our own time!

Okay! We have made a load of progress. You were badly infected and that is why I had you run all of these additional scans.

    Get my that HJT log!

Let's first address an issue with Spybot.

    Fixing SpyBot's Ignore Products Bug:
I want you to run SpyBot and get into the Advanced mode by selecting Mode and then
Advanced mode. Then select Settings and the in the left column select Ignore Products.
In the right window pane make sure the All products tab is selected. Then in that
window, right click your mouse and choose "Deselect all". Now in the left pane click
at the top on SpyBot S&D and then choose Search for Updates. Download any updates
required. Now click Check for Problems. Fix any that are found.

If you are using WinXP or WinMe, make sure you have system restore disabled (per the tutorial).
For all OS types, make sure viewing of hidden files is enabled (per the tutorial).

Please run HijackThis and click on the "Open the Misc Tools Section" button on the open page. Then select "Open process manager" on the left-hand side. Look for the following process (or processes) and one at a time kill them by selecting it and then click "Kill process". Then click yes.
    C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\IEengine.exe

After killing all the above processes, click "Back".
Then please click "Scan" and select the following lines but DO NOT CLICK FIX until you exit all browser sessions including the one you are reading in right now (I'm assuming the http://dubolom.com/sp.htm URL's are not valid):
    R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = http://dubolom.com/sp.htm
    R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Page = http://dubolom.com/index.htm
    R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page = http://dubolom.com/index.htm
    R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Default_Page_URL = about:blank
    R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,SearchAssistant = http://dubolom.com/sp.htm
    R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\SearchURL,(Default) = http://dubolom.com/index.htm
R3 - Default URLSearchHook is missing
    O3 - Toolbar: (no name) - {BDAD1DAD-C946-4A17-ADC1-64B5B4FF55D0} - (no file)
    O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [IEengine] C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\IEengine.exe
    O6 - HKCU\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Control Panel present
    O9 - Extra button: (no name) - {85d1f590-48f4-11d9-9669-0800200c9a66} - %windir%\bdoscandel.exe (file missing)
    O9 - Extra 'Tools' menuitem: Uninstall BitDefender Online Scanner v8 - {85d1f590-48f4-11d9-9669-0800200c9a66} - %windir%\bdoscandel.exe (file missing)

    After clicking Fix, exit HJT.
Boot into safe mode and use Windows Explorer to delete (if still found):
    C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\IEengine.exe <---NOTE: do not delete iexplore.exe
    C:\Program Files\MyWay <--- the whole folder
    C:\WINDOWS\iGator <--- the whole folder
    C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\adm.exe
    C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\apiyx.exe
    C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\iedb32.dll
    C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\syshc32.dll
    C:\WINDOWS\netnq32.dll
    C:\WINDOWS\winwq32.dll
    C:\WINDOWS\crej32.dll
    C:\WINDOWS\sdkpe.exe

If you get an error when deleting a file. Right click on the file and check to see if the read only attribute is checked. If it is, uncheck it and try again. Other wise open Task Manager and kill the process if running then delete the file.

Now run Ccleaner (installed while running the READ ME FIRST). Now if running Win XP goto c:\windows\Prefetch and delete all files in this folder.

Now we need to Reset Web Settings:
    1) If you have an Internet Explorer icon on your Desktop, goto step 2. If not, skip to step 3.
    2) Now right click on your desktop Internet Explorer icon and select Properties. Then click the Programs tab and then click "Reset Web Settings". Now go back to the General tab and set your home page address to something useful like www.majorgeeks.com. Click Apply. Click Delete Cookies, Click Delete Files and select Delete all Offline content too, Click OK. When it finishes Click OK. Then skip step 3.
    3) If you do not have an Internet Explorer icon on your Desktop, click Start, Control Panel (for some systems it may be Start, Settings, Control Panel), Internet Options, Programs tab and then click "Reset Web Settings". Now go back to the General tab and set your home page address to something useful like www.majorgeeks.com. Click Apply. Click Delete Cookies, Click Delete Files and select Delete all Offline content too, Click OK. When it finishes Click OK.

Now reboot in normal mode and post a new HJT log. And tell us how things are working.

    Download LSP - Fix

    Run LSP-Fix.

Check the Box labeled "I know what I'm doing" and then click on the newdotnet6_38.dll file (in the “Keep” section) to select it.

Then, Select the >> button to move newdotnet6_38.dll into the Remove section.

Now, click the Finish Button. When the Repair Summary box appears, click OK.
If it is already in the Remove section, just click Finish.
Now delete the following folder if found: c:\program files\newdotnet

Since you were so badly infected and because one item from the HSA infection is reappearing in your about:Buster log, I want you to run a couple scans again but we will run each of them twice. Once in normal boot mode and once in saf e mode.

So first boot up Trojan Hunter and look for any updates then run a full scan a fix anything found. Save the log. Then do the same with Ewido (save log too).

Then reboot into safe mode with no network support and also physically unplug your cable to the internet. Then run both Trojan Hunter and Ewido scans again and save the second logs too. Use new names so as not to overwrite the first ones.

Reboot in nromal mode and post all four logs (this will take two messages).
