Hopefully the right place- can't "put" my website (upload)

I have to upload my website for a class (beginning Web Design), and being off campus, I have to use a VPN client to connect to the campus server. I have done it a lot over this semester and it has been fine. Last night that all changed. Dreamweaver shows that it is uploading the entire site (it shows each file) and also when I test the connection it says it is connected to my school server. I have checked my passwords and all the info (host, path, etc.) and everything looks good- besides, I didn't change anything. Nothing is misspelled.

I tried uploading it with an independent FTP program (SmartFTP Client) but I'm not sure if it is working or doing anything. I followed the tutorial just as it showed, but it wasn't exactly the same outcome except on one try and it still didn't upload the site. My same, older version site shows up- with nothing new.

So frustrated, and my teacher isn't the kind I can ask questions from. I'm hoping someone here can help me out with this.

 

I can't help you with the uploading part. Maybe try clearing your browser cache just to make sure you are seeing the current version of the site.

So. you're supposed to upload web pages and then view them as a live website? Is that correct? Have you previously succeeded in doing that during this course?

I've taken online classes. Can you email other students in the class? Perhaps someone else has had the same problem. Where I took online classes, I could email select students or all students in my class. Sometimes, that can be a way of getting help.

Have you mentioned this issue to the instructor? Seems like this is something they should either answer directly or possibly refer to an IT support function at the school.

 

Hey, yeah- I used to be able to do it, now I can't. I have asked other students- no problem. The teacher doesn't care or at least hasn't offered any solutions. =(
