Hoping STUPID isn't permanent!

Earlier in the month MajorGeek passed out a few keys for a piece of software and I was one of the lucky recipients! Since then, I've been working on my monthly flyer and mindlessly noticed that the software had a Pro version so I entered the appropriate site and purchased it.

I'm assuming (that word gets me in so much trouble sometimes) the key they sent me should be entered into a fresh download of the program because I can't see where it will go in what is on my desktop. There seems to be no way to check the version either.
In any event I'll d/load a fresh version and hope the key will be asked for during install.
So basically.. on the eve of a new year.. I bought what had already been given to me... how stupid is that?!?!? I sure hope the New Year makes me wiser. LOL
GAAWWDD. I shall have to consider it a donation to software developers who rarely get paid their value!
