Once again, the pictures are worth 1000 words.

I thank BeLarc Advisor for waking me to some HUGE HOLES (apparently?) in my so-called "security".

The start-ups I am still wondering about are courtesy of WIN7 msconfig.

I understand I need several of these (star-ups)...however, several others I have no idea about, and would LOVE to be able to DIS-able them if possible...this machine (less than a month old) needs nothing else to slow it down...already, I will be needing to MAX my RAM (to 4GB Total/Full) next week.

    Thanks in advance,
    glenn . . .

No bump intended (simply ran too late for the edit) ... meant to add (in reference to these GAPS in my Security): "thanking BeLarc Advisor, however, I have NO CLUE what to do about them".
    :confused :confused :confused

It is almost impossible for the average user to get a high score in Belarc Advisor. Just take a look at a few of their suggestions to improve your score and you soon realise that you will have to be a real "IT professional" to even understand what they are talking about.

As long as you have a hard-to-guess passphrase to log-on and your Firewall and AV updates are current, then you probably already have more security that the average user.

You can always try to increase your Belarc Advisor rating, of course.
Far be it for me to try and discourage you. But best of luck. ;)

As for a Startup program that is really easy to Add, delete, or Disable programs, I use and would suggest that you try:

IMO, really simple to use. :cool

You mentioned boosting your RAM to 4 GB which you don't really need to do unless you have huge spreadsheets/ edit large pictures/ video transcoding etc. Stick to the line of thought that you currently have.
