hostman has completely screwed me... cant even start PC

Hey there... thought i'd try hostman... installed and upgraded hosts file. Internet suddenly became slow -> unresponsive... google not even working etc.... Use the hostman editor to remove all the added hosts.
Still no google etc
Restart PC..
After about 30 minutes waiting on "shutting down PC" perform hard power off
Now windows wont start... just get "Welcome" screen after I have put in my password to log in ... thats in safe mode too!

Any ideas?

 

Hi liltbrockie and welcome to MGs.

This probably should be in the Software forum. Once you get the OS up and running, a System Restore to before the install of hostman may cure your problem. I'll send a report to the admin team to see if they can move your post up there.

Which OS are you running? Do you have an installation CD?

I think the hard shutdown probably corrupted a few files. You want to run a chkdsk /r on your Windows drive.
