hotel internet connections

    I am curious, why is it that I can be in a hotel with free wireless and free dsl/ethernet and I can not connect to the dsl/ethernet. Wireless is no problem. But it always seems I cannot connect to the cable. Is there something I am not set properly. I am not a computer tech knowledgeable person.

    The best thing to do is just contact the front desk, each hotel has a tech.

    The answer is probably lies in Internet Options, under the connections tab or the advanced tab. Does it connect on other DSL/Ethernet lines, say at home or office?
