I did a search for "outlook express add email account"
I'd like to add my hotmail account to outlook.

Some threads touched on the fact you need an upgraded version of hotmail to add an account, is this true?

I know i can go to tools then add email account etc. it's when i get to incomnig and outgoing server i'm not sure what to do. i noticed in other threads there is instructions as to what to with a yahoo account, but i couldnt find a hotmail walk through.

    any suggestions?

    thanks

YES you now need to subscribe to one of the paid services to add MSN/Hotmail to Outlook or Outlook Express, MS decided a while back to stop this service for new users, for older users of MSN/Hotmail they can still collect their mail via outlook and OE, dont know how long you would have needed an account for tho, I've had mine for near 6yrs.

thanks for clearing it up Halo.

However, is it possible for me to add another account i have to OE?

It isn't a major one like yahoo or hotmail. it's BT. from united kingdom.

How can i go about getting my email address from that account onto OE?

    if it's possible?

Should be no problem at all,

    BT/Yahoo email
    http://help.yahoo.com/help/uk/bt/mailhelp/mail/pop

If that doesnt help as BT did change to being BT/Yahoo a while back, we may just need to find out which email sever address they are using for SMTP and POP

I'd be interested to see what they call "older users".

I've had mine for 5-6+ years and can't use mail forwarding whatsoever.

Pity I deleted the mail from Hotmail telling me about still keeping forwarding :(

Did you setup forwarding when you first got MSN/Hotmail? I wonder if its only the ones who set it up initally that get to keep it?

    Yes it is!

I was just reading about this last night.

Apparently, Micro$$oft stopped mail forwarding in a bid to thwart spammers who were exploiting this technology.

At the moment, the mail forwarding ban only applies to anyone who is trying to set it up.

If you had it previously set up, you won't be affected, although Micro$$oft will be sure to change this one day.
