hotmail server

I'm trying to set up thunderbird and It appears I don't know my server names.
What is the annotation for incoming mail server in hotmail??? Also gmail if you know it, thanks

 

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I think Thunderbird is mostly for POP3 email servers, and not Internet Email servers. I know you can access Yahoo internet email via thunderbird by subscribing to a special service, but Hotmail and Gmail both cannot be accessed with Thunderbird, unless you were to use another software program such as FreePOPs.

Even then, I believe Google does not like 3rd party software connecting to Gmail, I've heard that they've revoked people for this in the past.

Gmail can be used for POP3 but its a new feature they have just come out with. Click support-->Email Forwarding and POP3 in gmail

 

Yes, but its being introduced in batches. Not everyone has it yet.
