How 2 Split Album File into Separate Tracks?

Hello Major G's,

I have many audio files of complete albums. They burn onto CD's as whole tracks, that is, the individual songs are not separately tracked.
So I have Nero and I am trying to use the 'Pause Detection' option found in the WaveEditor application. I have read and re-read the instructions several times and tried it many ways, but I can't see to get it to detect the pauses between songs and reduce the one big album file into separate tracks that can be skipped while playing in a CD player.
Under the 'Edit' menu I've tried 'pause detection' and 'split tracks', but neither accomplish the aim I am hoping for.

Does anyone know how to convert a whole album file into separated tracks with Nero WaveEditor, or some other software that I don't know about ??

Hi

Possible to do this with Audacity could chop/edit out track by track, not tried it but have edited single tracks into smaller parts so see no reason it wouldnt work with one of those types of CDs.

You can try using Wave Repair, instead of Nero. It has "Automatic Track Detection" and "Splitting Tracks" features. Maybe you will achieve better results with this software.

Also, I think that GoldWave can look for silence between tracks. So that's another one to check.
