How can I BLOCK this please?

    I was visiting this site --> https://encrypted.google.com/search...res&btnG=Google+Search&aq=f&aqi=&oq=&gs_rfai=

and clicked-on one of the images, and got a pop-up ("www1.beinsafe36.co.cc") that said I 'wasn't protected from Malware', and wouldn't allow me to close by executing a Ctrl+F4 (so I ended-up having to close it out with the "X" that it provided).

How can I block it from happening again with my:
    A. Comodo Free Firewall
    B. SpywareBlaster
    C. Avast 5 Free
    D. Spyware Terminator (Real-Time Protection)
    E. Windows Defender (non-Real-Time)
    F. Google Chrome Browser ~ programs, please?

I believe I know the various methods to protect against it in Firefox, but have been using Chrome for the first time today.

    Thanks in advance
PS ~ I did attempt to protect in all these security programs, but only seemed to be able to do much of anything in Comodo FW to a certain extent (screen attached), and in SpywareBlaster to a lesser extent??

Thanks for looking - Avast gives that notification if any of its "Shields" is disabled, and I have one (1) of the Shields (IM) disabled, because I don't use IM.

Avast (nor any security program) reported or found anything.

    Hi
The link you provided is a google search results page,
can you tell the exact URL that gave you the problem (or at least which image did you click?)

~*UPDATE*~ AVAST HAS MARKED/BLOCKED (*AS "MALWARE"*), ONE OF THESE IMAGE-SITES : "***sportsroids.com***" ... this is the first time, in years of having Avast, that I ever recall seeing it shoot a pop-up warning.

    Thanks for the response...

That's a good question...I went back, after I had tweaked my protection in my Firewall, and attempted to duplicate the problem. I was not able to.

I can only guess as to which image it was...I had clicked-on several (three maybe four) before the problem arose, and I know I hadn't clicked-on one or two of them, so I would be guessing a bit between the other two or three that remained...so, to the best of my guessing, it was either "racioppo.ca", "hogwild.net", or another once which I cannot find now (after looking trough 30 pages of these images) which I also recalling having the number "36" in the url - as did the original, problematic site)

Lastly, my "WOT" ("Web Of Trust") program has marked the following sites in RED (much as McAfee's Site Advisor does):

    news.sportsinteraction.com"
    wireimage.com
    freewebgossip.info
    natalie.portman.swellserver.com
    toppayingideas.com

I'm not exactly sure what you mean by "stripped"?

Do you mean there is less protection than in the previous free version (4.8), please?

I'm thinking of adding "Immunet Protect" back with it...don't know if that will do much else for me, but I have run them together before (a couple months ago) with no problems ... and I like the idea of having some open-source, cloud-type protection in addition to Avast's software protection.

I wonder why Immunet Protect is not offered here, for download??

Thanks hrlow2, but the video froze-up (locked-up?) on me...can you or someone please give me the gist of it (in a nutshell), please?

In the very first few minutes, he states that he used 25 threats to test Immunet.
Out of 25, only 11 was detected.
Could be why it isn't listed on our site.

Ok, thanks for the info, however, I was simply planning to use it as a "back-up" ... to "supplement" avast (and have used it once before "successfully") - so is this video, and your surmise/supposition of it the end of opinion/consensus on it?

I'm not looking to be a smart-@$$, I'm really just trying to learn something here ... and it just "seems" to me like it might not be a bad backup to have ... yet one more (extremely light on resources) tool, no?

Not to mention, perhaps other programs would have caught the remaining 14 threats, but missed the 11 that Immunet caught - or some combination thereof?

You can use WOT in Chrome as an add-on. When doing a search on Images in Google it should show you the red, orange or green "donuts" as well.

As a second opinion scanner you could use the 2nd opinion cloud scanner Hitman Pro. It's free scanning until you find malware, have to register and then you still can use it for free for 30 days after. After that it's not free anymore. http://majorgeeks.com/Hitman_Pro_d5283.html It's got 5 malware vendor scanners in one. See pic.

I have it for a few months and its tremendously fast in scanning ( abt 1 minute). So far it's still free for me since it hasn't found anything yet.

Nowadays there is so much malware on the internet that safe browsing that using your brain, rather clicking, is far more important than the best AV/Malware programs around. But you know that already eh? :)

I would like to add, it is not recommended to run multiple anti viruses (Avast & Immunet). They can be degrading of system resources, cause conflicts with each other and make them both less functional resulting a false sense of security, even if one is just on "stand-by" or a "back-up".

I hear ya...and I understand, I'm simply going on my previous experience of several months with Immunet and Avast together (experienced none of the issues you mentioned), and on various readings on the web/net, including this ---> Officially Supported Anti-Virus Packages
    http://support.immunet.com/tiki-read_article.php?articleId=4

You may already be well-aware of all of this (I have no idea), but just in case I'll pass it along - thanks...

Sorry to tell you that this is just one of the annoyances you'll have to learn to live with.

Glenn, I forgot to give you the link for WOT in Google Chrome. Sorry about that. :-o I know that extensions for Chrome are sometimes hard to find. Here it is: https://chrome.google.com/extensions/detail/bhmmomiinigofkjcapegjjndpbikblnp

Concerning Hitman Pro. I checked out the info about it on Wilders Security Forum in this thread. http://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=236732. It's a massive thread dating back for at least a year. Yep, I read all the posts before taking the plunge. :-D I would not install it without first getting info about it. It runs fine with free Avast v 5 on my XP.

Thank you again...it's so nice to feel like someone has our "back" on occasion.

I found WOT (through the Chrome Browser) just a few minutes before you posted this - thanks ! ~ Not sure about Hitman (Pro?) just yet though...;):major:wave
