I installed Linux on my computer, but decided I didn't like it. I tried to boot from my XP cd, but instead, Linux just booted up as usual. I had the CMOS set up to try to boot from a cd first, but it still didnt boot. I put the hard drive in another computer, and used windows disk manager to format the hard drive. After it was formatted, i put it back in and tried to boot again. A linux remnant, GNU GRUB 0.94, appeared as a command prompt. I can't do anything with it and i still can't boot from the cd!

This is more a software question, but try booting from a floppy, and use Format C:/ \s. That should do the trick.

i don't have a floppy drive that works. I dont think it should be software. All i wanna do is wipe off the drive. There just happens to be a piece of software getting in my way (i wanna wipe it out!).

i got it worked out now! I had to mess around in the BIOS, and found that my boot sequence was reset.
