How Can I delete these tracks in VISTA?

I noticed in my Vista the other day in C:/USER/"user name"/Searches folder that there are several folders full of TONS of CRAP....really there is listed is every file you moved or looked at / opened for months? I certainly don't want all this CLUTTER...

Note I don't really understand it all but I did some Google searches and somebody cleaned this folder out...that is deleted the contents with Ccleaner and then all the programs that files were listed there did not work? That's what he said anyway...I don't want that to happen...This is why I post to get the info from somebody who knows etc

Another forum showed me that you can turn this file acquisition off BUT it did not say how to delete the files already there? Is there any software that will do this? Amazingly enough I have tried 2 or 3 of the so called PC security activity erasing programs and they do delete a lot of stuff HOWEVER when you go to the SEARCHES folder every file you touched...Well they are all still there rolleyes

Rest assured you can run Ccleaner (with the defult settings) without any ill effects..

I have used Ccleaner on hundreds of computers and it has never caused any trouble whatsoever

Thanks for the reply...I use Ccleaner all the time and have for years...the problem is though is that Ccleaner or any other software DOES NOT remove these files I speak of in the Users/Search folder and this is a total history of every file you ever have touched and when....

Do you know how I can clear this folder out then? I certainly cannot find any software to do it and they all say they clear everything out...Yet after running the programs the files in Searches are all still there
