How can i get rid of norton?

Hi guys, Just got a new laptop Packard Bell A7145 comes with a 3month trial of Norton Internet Security with Antivirus. What i want to know is how the hell can i remove this? Have tried a few things but cant seem to get rid of it. Tried to uninstall by the app they give u but there is no option to do this. Want to get rid of it pretty bad any help would be appreciated

Hi many thanks for ur help, but thats for 2005 for some reason this had come with 2004 hmmm and the link for the reg removal dont work just comes up with page cannot be blah blah lol cant get my head around it.

Willing to try anything else lol

Ty for ur help but i managed to find a fix on the Packard Bell website!! A patch to show it in the add remove programs tut why cant they just put it there anyway? Oh well lol

A few ppl have had my problem from what i read on the forum so had to look at the link some1 posted lol crazy how they cant just let u choose what u want to install for example i got a 60 day trial of office 2003 whats the point? Would be easier and better so ask u when u first boot up what u want on it but thats just what i think lol

 

Lmao now that is funny. Only real reason i wanted it off was 1, its a trial 2, i got McAfee internet suite 2005 here was in a package with case mouse etc with my new laptop so thought i would give it a go and see what happens.

 

Hmmm think i may take a look into them cant at the mo as im still installing things on my new laptop so this is my old 1 lol

1more annoying thing about the new 1 is when you start up and get the windows xp loading screen where the lil process bar is it goes and comes up with a full screen packard bell logo Grrrrr lol its everywhere, kill! Destroy! lol

Any ideas how i can get rid of it?

On another note i got some silly Norton Security Centre keep starting up....Says no antivirus found etc der@it hmmm any ideas how i can get rid of this? Had a look in msconfig but nothing there at all showing it

Did you go through My Computer and delete all the folders and files that were left over? Did you make sure to check start- up to see if it was listed in there?

Also go to start-run and type in services.msc and check if there are any there. If there are, go to Run then type in cmd and hit enter. Then (making sure you type the service exactly), type:

Net stop <name of norton service here>

and hit enter. I'm pretty sure norton has a few services, so anything with nav, norton, symnatec, that type of thing is most likely norton.

 

Cheers Neo found it in services.msc disabled it then deleted the last few bits and its all gone now!!!
