pretty new to the computer thing but I have a Dell 2200 Insipron laptop with one of those wireless cards that you insert on the side. Well I just reformatted my drive and while downloading new drivers from dell I noticed that I didn't need to insert the card anymore for wireless. I could only go around the house with it before but now I don't even need a card to do that. Is my comp running on WiFi Dell Wireless or do I still need some other component because I don't even know the difference. I was hoping to be able to take it places and it just picks up networks like the newer ones do. thanks

any question is good so dont hesitate asking. the shame would be not wanting to learn. by the way you can go on the internet where there are wireless connections and that you are allowed to use it. there are ranges of these cards, usually the connection depends how far you are from the wireless wouter.
