I'll assume you're using XP... does your Admin account have a password? Go to control panel and then Users/Passwords and make sure that the account login required is turned on and all that jazz...

Administrator Account Not Used for Logon

    SUMMARY
When you install a version of Windows XP, Setup prompts you for a password for the Administrator account. After installation is complete, the password provided during Setup is applied to the account.

    MORE INFORMATION
The administrator account and password created during Setup are used to log on in Safe Mode only. To create a password for user accounts, double-click Manage Users in Control Panel.

    APPLIES TO
    • Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition
    • Microsoft Windows XP Professional Edition

Thanks for your help, but it took me like 5 minutes to find the answer after asking it here...and it does work! I am using it this very moment...

Don't just say it does work.

Please share how you were able to get the Administrator Account to display on th Logon screen in normal mode.

get TweakUI for XP from Microsoft..

There is an option to add the Administrator account to the Welcome (Login) screen..

I believe you can do it from the Group Policy editor also...

Yes it can be done with TweakUI and by editing the registry. I already know that. I wanted User2005 to post how he/she had managed to do it.

I don't tell users how to do it, because the 'Administrator Account' on XP is hidden for a reason. If you check out User2005's profile you will find at least 17 threads by this individual, and nearly every one of them is malware related. If people would quite trying to override the security features of the OS, they would have far less problems.
