How can I make PowerPoint slide into avi?

Okay, here I go again. What I am trying to do is get a PowerPoint into an avi format. I tried zdsoft screen and played that. It is spotty at best because of the drain on the computer's resources I guess. No complaints about the software because it does what Cam studio couldn't. Anyway, I was talking to a sergeant in passing yesterday and he mentioned that you could convert the PowerPoint clip into an avi format but he didn't say how.

The end result that I am looking for is to show a slide with all its actions and put that into a MovieMaker clip.

Ideas?

Thank you for your help!! I have decided to just "snagit" the slides that have some action take place and using MovieMaker add the video clips into the whole thing after the fact.
