How can I open a JSP file?

I need to open a JSP file which is a log of an eMachine technician's help. I had the chat form of direct exchange on a problem and used the save-log function. it was saved as "savelog.jsp" ... I have JRE5-something but apparently that doesn't apply. Generally, I don't have Macromedia programs (such as Dreamweaver etc). Is there a way that I can open this file? Obviously I didn't know the save-log function would save it in this format. Many thanks.

 

You might get lucky by just using notepad.

 

tnx, theefool. Notepad opens only what appears to be a header; it doesn't display any content. that's about as close as i typically get to "getting lucky" on a friday, LOL. ulp.

 

how large is the file?

Have you tried opening it in IE?

Right click it, open with=IE

Might work.

 

I now see that the file is 4kb ... so it appears that isn't the log itself and I don't need to open it. I'll try pspad tho ... meanwhile, wonder where the log itself was saved, IF it were saved? hmmmm. wish eMachine's tech desk had sent a copy to my email as some other tech desks do.

 

Tnx Toni. IE did open it, showed same as Notepad ... just the header. that's all there is. guess all those instructions as gone forever. Many thanks to you all for the help. (Skipping PSPad now.)
