How can I straighten out this mess??

is there anyone who could give me a clue as to what could be wrong with my computer?
Started abt a month ago, first my printer stopped working; I figured that I have to buy a new one. Then the scanner gave up, message says "scanner not found".Then my email stopped working.I reinstalled the ISP installaton software and had the net assistant check the connection. No problems found.Email ok for a day, then I started hanging up agai.I would download 1 of 6 messages and then freeze up. I had no virus,my virus scanner is updated almost daily.So had the disk reformatted, everything erased and discarded W98 and had Windows2000 Professional installed. Worked great for abt. a week.Now my keyboard, printer, scanner stopped working.I am typing with the "on screen" keyboard using the mouse. Any suggestions?

 

disconnect your printer and scanner.. reboot the machine and see if your keyboard works again.
