I was wondering if it is possible to copy DVD's to my hard drive. And a free/cheep way at that. Thanks. Bye.

O.K. here is my 2 cents.
I use both programs posted by the Major & Lugz, both are great and are different and are used for different stuff, both can copy to HDD.

DVD decryptor may be better if you only want to store on HDD, if you save as ISO (use ISO MODE) it will save as one file or folder.
And if ya wanted to use shrink lattor, no problem.


Shrink will save in several files and folders (most complete movies aprox a dozen files audio & video) which would be more confusing if your only purpose is to store on HDD.

Now as far as using programs to eventually burn DVD's, In most cases DVD decryptor just adds an extra unnecessary 15 to 40 min. step to the process, several factor determin the actual time wasted.
If you have a movie that has bad spots on the original disc DVD decryptor has the ability to ignor these errors, and you still can copy to HDD or even burn to DVD, where as shrink will just lock up or fail and you'll be unable to back up to hdd or dvd media.

DVD decryptor & Shrink do even work well together, decryptor can be used to burn.

There has been several Threads here at MG related to dvd backup and such, lot o info, just do a little search or post a specific question.
