We are running Windows XP Home Edition on our computer. We have recently been come across some programs that were made for older Windows versions ( Win98 and NP(?)). I was wondering if it was possible to run them on Windows XP. If it is possible, how would we do it and would it affect XP at all?

Right click the file>properties>compatibility>choose the windows version or settings.

Shouldnt affect XP and as Kadavill said above try using compatability mode, but also look on the manufacturers site of the software for any updates to th eversions you have.

Downside they just may not work at all even in compatability mode.

I have a stack of older software (educational stuff for the kids), which tend to cause more problems than there worth... in any mode.
