    Hello,

I have just gotten my HP Omnibook 6000 battery laptop last December and now my battery is running so low that when i unplug the charger it shuts off by itself and sometimes causes me to lose my work. I dont understand why it happened. My friend got the same exact laptop a month or so before me and her battery is perfectly fine. I dont want to purchase another battery for my laptop.

If you purchased the battery in December, it should still be under the manufacturer's warranty (usually one year).

Find the copy of your sales receipt and contact the seller for instructions on getting a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) to send it back for a replacement.

    Hope this helps. :)

Different reasons can cause battery loss of memory, or "damage". How often you use the battery, how often it gets ran down to completely dead, so on. These things can cause a battery to not be able to charge. Sometimes manufactures have a recommended recalibrating procedure for the battery. Its hard to say, why performance has decreased so greatly but could be a number of different things.
