how come i cant get into hotmail???

how come i cant get into hotmail anymore? its letting me sign in and then it times out... any ideas? thanks


and are there any standalone mail servers that i can use like outlook express??

 

yeah.. ok thanks. but its been happening for awhile. but i can access on it the other 3 comps in my house. iuts weird. just in my room... thanks

p.s. i do run spybot, ad aware, avg, ccleaner, and sucha daily. so they are cleaned. Thanks for the responce

Yes, hotmail.com may be at http address, but the authentication process is https, which then switches back to http. At least for me it does.

 

i duno. what are some https sites? but that makes sence that its timing out right then....

 

also www.imageshack.us times out....

 

Do you have a bank account? Can you access that! Typically this SHOULD be https.

Or try https://www.paypal.com/us/

Also, do you have a firewall running?

What about your security settings under IE/FF/OPera/etc....

 

im running segate... what should i change..

 

Disable Sygate (Segate), and try to access your site(s).

 

Seems to be a fairly common issue usually caused by ad blockers or, as suggested the firewall/settings.

yes sir. that did it.i disabled the segate. but i dont want to leave it disabled or is it ok

I don't use Sygate but you should have an Options or Settings feature that might list an ad or pop-up blocker, something like that. Might have to try a few before you find what is actually blocking it.

One of the other members might have Sygate and can offer better suggestions.
