How delete spaces / blank lines when copy/paste?

I have many PDF's that I want to copy and paste certain paragraphs into a word processing program. When I do this, I still end up with blank lines, extra spaces, unwanted spaces. I have Adobe Reader & Foxit Reader to view the PDF's. I have Wordpad, Notepad, Open Office, and Google Docs for word processors. I've tried the equivalent of Word's 'Paste Special' command and tried Plain Text & Plain Text Clipboard; all of these undo the formatting BUT I still have all the spaces that I don't want. I want to end up with all copied text running together with only single space between words, and one large paragraph. How can I do this?

 

Not sure if it can be done by pasting from the clipboard but once pasted you can use find/replace to substitute double-spaces by single-space. You can also copy/paste line breaks into the find/replace dialog and substitute the line breaks by what ever you want.

 

I use PDF Xchanger viewer so I do not know if this will work for you but it did for me.

I opened up the PDF file and used the text select button to copy what text I wanted. I then pasted into Notepad. But in order to remove the spaces I had to uncheck Word Wrap. In the menu bar of Notepad Format>Word Wrap should not be checked.

Edit. This may not remove every space. You will still get a space after some lines as it was shown in the PDF.

 

Convert your pdf to rtf then paste what you want. Or simply edit out what you don't want in the rtf you received.
