    Hello,

I searched through the "How-to's" here to no avail, and am once again stranded by something that seemingly used to be so very simple (things virtually 'installed themselves') just a few years ago...

I have also searched this PC to no avail.

I HAVE plugged in the little USB 'transmitter' (for lack of a better word), but this PC simply doesn't seem to want to place nice.

From what I've seen online it looks like I have to have Bluetooth enabled on the machine but I also don't seem to be able to get that done either.

    Any/all help greatly appreciated...

Should be "Plug n Play", with windows doing the rest..... have you tried all USB ports available?
    Win10?

Hi and thanks for the reply ... yes it is Windows 10 ("Professional", not that I think that matters), and no, I only tried one of the two USB ports...will try that now and get back to you here asap! Thx again!!

OK...so the second USB port made the same little sound ('Chime') indicating that it was recognized (same as the other USB port) but then a little notification popped-up saying it was 'setting it up'. Then it disappeared and wireless mouse still not working.

I am trying everything I know to try, but am just lost here...I managed to take this screenshot of my latest attempt at getting this accomplished...... Screenshot_for_MG's_2021-09-02.png

Posting the brand and model of mouse would help. That way we could see if it is a bluetooth mouse. (I've only worked with bluetooth keyboards and a speaker.)

Can you let us know what Device Manager is showing under Mice and Other Pointing Devices?

Some wireless Mice require their own USB dongle & software to set up the connection. Logitech devices are like this - some of their Mice & keyboards require the Logitech unifying software to pair to the USB & the Logitech Options or SetPoint software to change settings.

I apologize Friends, false alarm. In looking for the Brand, I discovered a tiny little "On" switch on the bottom, not noticed when I installed the batteries.

I feel like an idiot now...but then I am a humble chauffeur...not a techie person. Thank you all very much and again I do apologize :(

Don't apologize. You probably have a few people reading this thread and now looking over the cordless mouse for an on/off button to get a non-functioning mouse to work.
