How Do I Burn DVD's Using Nero?

I've tried over and over again to figure out how to burn DVD's using Nero but I just can't seem to get it right. What I want to do is put some videos from my PC (in the form of .AVI) on to a blank DVD so that I can watch them on DVD Player & TV.

I purchased the latest version of Nero Ultra Edition (Nero 7 I believe) but it doesn't tell you how to burn DVD's. Surely it can't be as complicated as I think it is but maybe it is. Either way, I have no idea how to burn videos to DVD using Nero.

And yes I have a DVD-RW which I purchased & installed about 2 weeks ago which is working fine so that shouldn't be the problem.

I'd appreciate as much help as I can get on this, thank you.

You need to use Nero Vision Express - from that menu select Make DVD > DVD Video and then select add video files.. and follow the prompts...

 

Foogoo has the right idea. Basically you need to convert your .AVI files into standard DVD format (I believe it's MPEG2). Nero Vision Express will do this for you and burn the DVD. There are several other programs that will do the conversion, but you'd still have to use Nero to burn. I've just started getting into this arena myself, and I was also a bit confused, but there's always plenty of help here at 'the Geeks'

ok im new to this as well but i think i finaly figured it out like everyone says you need to convert the avi to dvd the way you do that is by downloading a converter i use super converter www.erightsoft.net/SUPER.html i know it looks phishy but its not (but im not being held responsible) its free and simple to use a drop down menu will have somethings saying auto mode to dvd you drop the avi divx anything in the output folder hit endcode give it 45 minutes and your done then you will get a .VOB file that will burn nicely on any dvd using nero i do it all the time i run pc cillin spy bot and ad aware they havent found nothing linked to that program yet ...hope i helped

 

Well, I have been playing around with DVD stuff for a while, and I have come to one conclusion: Nero is a pos... That might just be my opinion, but everything I want to do can be done by freeware programs more efficiently than Nero.
