How do i change a laptop drive?

is it all that hard?

 

its not very hard at all, it will be either in the bottom of your laptop or is the side of the laptop, a simple google search for your make/model and replace hdd will net you tuts on how to this.

If its a side mount, you will likely need to remove one or two screws, pull it out, and you will have to transfer the tray/locking mechanism to the new one, install is reverse of removal of course.
Bottom mounted, there will be a cover with 4 or 5 screws, remove that to reveal the drive, it should remove easily from there.

If they are both PATA interface aka IDE, then YES
Since the spec sheets only specify one is PATA, try using Everest Home ed

If one is SATA and one is PATA then NO.

 

so far one is out and it says ata ide

so if other one says that too ,its ok?

a sata has different pins anyway and its very obvious?
