I have 2 CD drives on my computer and I want to put some movies from my PC on to DVD so that I can watch them on my TV using a DVD player.

I don't know whether I have a drive that is able to burn a movie to a blank DVD though and was wondering how I would be able to check whether I have one or not.

what programme are you using to burn the movie? Cuz there should be a warning telling that you are not able to burn a DVD or somethin. Here's something simple I thought. Go to "my computer" and right click on a drive, any drive. Click "properties" and in the new window go to the hardware tab. There you can see all the drives you have. If one is named like "DVD-RW" you do have a DVD writer.

Once you've clicked on Properties, you should see one of the tabs at the top (far right) will say Recording, if it's got that capability.
Also, if it has, make sure the box is checked next to where it says "Enable CD recording on this drive".
