    OK,

Since I had no responses to my original post (http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=136896), I guess the next step would be to ask how I could possibly take out the print head, soak or clean it and see if that works. If that doesn't work, then I could replace the print head as a last resort.

If that is cost effective I'd do that. Otherwise I guess I'd have to trash the printer and buy another one.

Does anyone know how to remove, clean, or replace print heads?

    Thanks.

You might want to try these first http://www.tonik.co.uk/Cleaning-Cartridges/Canon/Canon-i850/kz187/, removing and cleaning print heads on some units is not for a novice (don't know your skill level). Some say they work, and I have not had occassion to use them myself. With the low price for printers, it is questionable as to whether to do extensive repairs. Hope that helps.

Cannons are great because unlike Epson you can buy affordable new print heads I don't know where you are based but if you are in the UK go to your local Cartridge World and they will get one for you.

Cleaning cartridges are hit and miss worth a try if you get them cheap.
