Maybe with Windows Movie Maker since you already have seperate files?

i already tried windows movie maker and it takes too long (longer than necessary) so is there a quicker way to combine them

baron, I asked which type of movie twice:confused

If it is avi this will work http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=171799&highlight=volume

The link WightBoy gave for VDub also shows a plugin pack that may work for wmv files.

If you need help with Gspot or anything let me know. My instructions for dlb were shorter because I know he is familiar with video codecs and such.

i'll give virtual dub a try but it never worked on my computer before (last time i tried it i was fixing a video that had a sync off by a couple seconds i gave up because i wasn't familiar with matching sync) that or maybe it was the fact that i was working on an anime episode those studios that dub them probiably get the mouth movement off alot but still looks convincing

and as for the other method i'll try it out after the virtual dub suggestion but still virtual dub really didn't work at all on my computer

If you get a warning about variable rate audio when you first open the file in Vdub then you will probably have a synch problem.

What type of file is the movie? If you have used Audacity already to louden the .wav audio track I can tell you how to put the sound back to the video if it is avi.

i just tried your virtual dub method and it worked like magic but i also want to know how to measure the amount of sound each video is getting ro that i know that each one har the same amount of sound as for the video's format its an mpeg auti saved it as an avi and it worked

never mind its lagging for some reason, you said that it works on avi not mpeg so what if i converted it to an avi then try it then see what happens

If Vdub works opens the movie you don't have to convert.. That would take quite a while anyway.

Did you say you have a louder version of the audio from audacity? What type of file is the audacity sound file?

BTW, did Vdub give you a VBR warning when you first opened the video file?

hit a bit of a snag i am using mpeg video files and virtual dub creates the finished video into an avi and avi files take up too much memory thats why i am working with mpeg files but when i converted the finished avi file into a mpeg the audio made it sound like the characters were talking under water, but i didn't convert it directly back into a mpeg i converted it into a flv because converting it into a mpeg with the program i'm using took too long then after it finished i used another program to change

    Hi,
I really don't have any new info. When you say too much space how big is it? How big was the original? Maybe you have to use compression on the video. Were you able to use Direct Stream Copy on the video or did you have to use Full Processing? If you were forced to use FullProcessing then you want to try again this time selecting Compression on the Video tab and scrolling down in the box to select XviD.

well the link that was set up earlier led me to an instruction manual and it said to use full processing to enable the audio settings and i didn't use compression option thanks for suggesting it and as for the size of the video the orinal mpeg file was 220 mb and the output avi file was 9gb way too big but then i tried to convert to a mpeg the size was smaller it was just that the audio made the characters sound like they were talking under water

You could try VideoRedo Plus (not the tv version). It is fast. And there is a 15 day trial. You have to register to get a temporary registration key if the video is longer than 15 minutes.

Just open the video and under Tools there is an Adjust Volume option. Then save it. Video size remains almost exactly the same.

I tried it on a music video [the only mpg I have] and 200% volume sounded a bit distorted but you can play around with it. It only takes a minute or two to complete the adjustment process.

actually i'll stick to the avi format that virtual dub came out with it is only slightly bigger than the original by only a few bytes, all this so i can put videos on my psp fat,
if only i knew the maximum video resolution then when i convert them to mp4 i'll know the right resolution so the video doesn't come out pixelated

Sorry, I can't help there. When I entered this thread I was only going to make a suggestion if it was increasing the volume in an avi. That's all I've ever had to do and could do more quickly than WMovieMaker.

    Good Luck! :)
