Does anyone know of freeware that will convert DVD format to use with Microsoft Moviemaker? We need to create a DVD with my son's hs football games that we can hilite him and cut his playing time from different games onto one DVD. We have XP that comes with MovieMaker and need to convert the DVD format to use with MM.
    Thanks, appreciate any feedback...

    Welcome to MajorGeeks.

Why do you want to convert it?

You should just be able to start Movie Maker with your video device connected, then select "capture from video device"

If it's a resident file, then just select "Import video".

There are detailed instructions under "Movie Making Tips".

BTW, the original Movie Maker (1) included with XP is very ordinary.

Either make sure you have SP2, or update Movie Maker manually to Movie Maker 2.

The game dvds are already cut. I need to edit the different dvds that are made for each game and make a new dvd to send to colleges. I have MovieMaker on my machine, but don't I need a format that MM can read?

Have you tried what I suggested?

    MovieMaker supports most formats.
