How Do I Do a Repair Install of XP?

I need to do a repair install of Windows XP. I created an XP w/SP2 bootdisc using the following instructions:

What do I do now? Anyone have step by step instructions on how to do the repair install using the boot disc?

 

I rebooted with the XP Boot CD in the CD drive, and I got the following message "CDBOOT: Coudn't find NTLDR"

Can anyone tell me what I might have done wrong creating the boot disc?

Explain, how you "created" the boot CD? Do you not own Windows XP?

 

I followed the steps in the link in the first post of this thread. The only difference was in how I burned it to disc becuase Nero and Roxio Easy CD Creator will not install on my computer, so I had to use BurnAtOnce but I'm not sure if I did it correctly. I explain the options I selected in the burn process in another thread...see the link in the third post of this thread.

Yes I "own" the Windows XP disc that came with my computer, but I was told to slipstream a disc with SP2 on it.

 

Sounds like you slipstreamed it wrong, then.

I downloaded and installed CDBurnerXP and when I tried to open it I got the following error: "cdbxpp.exe - .NET Framework Initialization Error C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\mscorwks.dll could not be loaded".

 

Update. I tried to install dotnetfx.exe and I got a message saying "Windows Installer" could not be found. I tried to find a download of Windows Installer on the MS website, but came across many options. Can anyone direct me to the site to download Windows Installer?
