How do I fix this?

This is what I get when I want to chat:

Type in your nickname and press "Connect".....

 

we need alot more info than that I'm afraid.

To start, what software are you using ?

 

I'm not sure how do I find out?thanx.

 

Where do you get the error, what program are you using when you get this error, if its an error at all... sounds like a chat program of sorts, what version of windows are you using?

Give us a clue!

 

I get the error whenever I go to a website and they have a chat option,when I try to go to the chat it gives me that error message I run Windows XP.

 

Not being sarcastic, but I think you should type in the name you want to chat with and click the connect button.

If you dont see the connect button or a text box to type your nickname in, THEN we have a problem.

 

O.k. I tried it again,and I think we have a problem.

 

Sounds to me that you need to create a nickname to chat with then hit "connect" Pretty much all chat programs require a nickname for you to chat with.

 

When I made the initial post it didn't copy and paste all of what I was trying to show sorry about that I'll re-post it in a minute I should have previewed the post before I hit enter.

Ok, try taking a screenshot of you error (by pressing PrtScn or print screen key) pasting into paint and saving it as a JPEG. Attach it to your post, so then we can see exaclty what the error is and whether we can help you with it.
