How do I get 256 colors back?

I had to reinstall windows 98 2nd edition, and now I only have 16 colors (it sucks... a lot). Someone told me I need a new or different driver. I have no idea what this means or where I get it from. Can anyone help? My computer is an IBM aptiva 2170-190 (I have no idea what that means either). I'm technologically inept, as you may have guessed!

Yes, you need a driver to restore the colors back. here is the driver that I found that should work. Its for aptiva computers.

IBM has very good support and driver downloads available HERE.

What you need is the correct video card or graphic card driver for Windows 98 S.E. Drivers are basically sets of instructions.

On the IBM site it also has a "detect my sytem" if you get stuck which will install a small program onto your PC and then scan it and supply you with the information.
