how do I get my domain to point at my website?

I feel pretty unsophisticated with this question.

I bought my first domain at GoDaddy and I built a website at a website company. Now I want my domain to point at the website, but I don't know how to do that. Could somebody help me?

I already have a domain and I already have a website. I need to know how I get the domain to point at the website?

 

Sorry to double post. I answered my own question.

First I went to the company where I created the website.
There I followed the instructions for using my own domain without a transfer.
This gave me the name of the company's servers, which I copied.
I went back to GoDaddy and clicked on Domain.
Under Domain, I clicked on Domain Management
I checkmarked the domain I want to use
Then above this, I clicked on the icon of the stack of coins called Nameservers
I selected Set Nameservers
I then checked that I have specific Name Servers was checked
I finally entered the name servers in the first two boxes, replacing the ones that were already there and clicked on ok.​

I'm still not sure about a couple of thigns. One of these is that I have two websites with the same company, so I don't know what that will do to the addresses. The other is how long it will take.

 

Depends on what your dns settings time outs are, but general they say upto 72 hours.
