How do I get rid of IE pop ups?

I would very much like to block "Advertisement - Windows Internet Explorer" pop-ups. How do I do that? I have changed the pop-up blocker to "high" and the pop-up blocker is definitely on. Any help would be appreciated.

What sort of pop ups are you getting?

pop ups in IE can be related of a malware problem.

I'm still getting the popup and they run anywhere from general things like "smileys' to "semi-porn". They are now popping up when I'm online or off-line. I have got to find some way to get this off of my computer. This is very annoying.

All of these popup say in the header "Advertisement - Windows Internet Explorer".

This all started after I had to reinstall my original software and download "critical updates" from Microsoft.

 

Hi. i think we need to rule out malware as the cause of the problem.
popups in IE is one of the first signs of malware.

You need to have a look at this READ & RUN ME FIRST

Then you need to start a NEW thread HERE in the malware forum.

Dont forget to attach the logs of the scans in your post.
