How do I get this onto my hard drive?

Okay, here's one for you. I received an email with a link to this website: http://www.greatdanepromilitary.com/Battle Hymn/index.htm
When I went to it, there was some text followed by a graphic and a stirring rendition of the song, "Battle Hymn of the Republic." Is there a way I can get this onto my hard drive? If I can, I might be able to use my TiVo Desktop to get it into my TV. But I don't even know what to call this thing--a video? Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi,

When you visit the site and allow the whole song to play in IE the flash animation is downloaded to C:\Documents and Settings\Your Username\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files [It is a hidden folder but you can copy and paste the location into the address bar of an Explorer window and change the user name and hit enter to open the folder.] Find Battle%20Hymn.swf file (about 2.2mb) and drag it to your desktop. That is the video file.

You can play it in any browser by dragging the file into the browser. Some media players can play it--I use KMPlayer and it works fine--I'm not sure about WMP.

There are .swf to avi converters available online-I'm sure there are free ones but I haven't ever needed to convert so I can't recommend any. Here's a VideoHelp.com thread but it doesn't have any clear answers on software.

Thank you. I got as far as the Local Settings folder, but could not find a Temporary Internet Files folder. You said it was hidden and to copy and past the location into the address bar of an Explorer window. I don't know how to do that. Please advise.

If you get as far as Local Settings just go to Tools at the top of the window and Folder Options>View tab and uncheck the box for Hide System Files (also make sure the box for Show Hidden Files is checked]. Then Temporary Internet Files folder will be visible.

In Explorer window try View tab>Details and Sort by>Last accessed to find the file.

Thank to all of you. With your instructions, I got the darn thing onto my Desktop. Then I went to my Tivo Desktop software and guess what? It says I have to have the "Plus" (read pay for it) version to get videos into it for use on a tv. What's a poor guy to do?

Sorry, Tivo is one gadget I never really craved. Maybe swf to DVD conversion?

Don't forget to Hide your System files again. It is safer that way. ;)
