I fdisked my hard drive. How can I load XP without loading another O/S first?

You would need to boot the XP CD. That my require adjustments in the BIOS on your computer.

    Agree.

But, if you have the xp cd placed within your cdrom, and have a "fdisked" hdd. Then "pending on the bios setup", the hdd will be skipped over (since a bootloader doesn't exist) and the xp cd bootloader will startup automatically.

I'm not trying to be argumentative but if the CD drive isn't listed as a boot device at all, It won't boot the CD regardless of weather a boot loader is present or not. I think if it were that simple for him he wouldn't be asking for help.

    :)

That is why I had "Pending on bios setup" in quotes! :)

Some Mainboards have HDD as first, and CDrom or floppy as 2nd. But, typically the cdrom drive is setup as a boot device, if the hdd drive doesn't boot. Hence, what I said above.

Just adding my thoughts. Not trying to barge in. :)
