how do I make yahoo web cam work with windows xp firewall?

I need help with getting the windows firewall to accept the yahoo web cam. I tried to add the yahoo web cam to the exceptions under the windows security which did not work. I also cut the windows firewall completely off, but the yahoo web cam still did not work. I think that this started when windows sp2 was installed on the computer, but I can't be sure on this. yes, it works when you just turn it on. When I try to do the web-cam through Yahoo, either to send or receive, I get "this service can not be accessed because of your firewall" or something to that effect. It gives instructions to turn off your firewall, but I still wasn't able to get through. I tried to just put the yahoo web-cam into the exclusions on the firewall listing and that didn't work. Then I tried to cut the firewall completely off and that didn't work either! Thanks for answering my post. Diane

 

You wouldn't happen to have a router with a built in firewall, by any chance?

No, I do not have a router. My operating system is win xp, sp2. The firewall is de-activated at this point. I am on dial-up through AOL, but there doesn't appear to be a firewall there. I can use Yahoo messenger and chat room just fine. It is when I try to access the web-cam service that I get the firewall message. I don't have any new programs on my system that might have added a firewall either. When I first access the sign-on screen for AOL, it says that there is no firewall detected.
