    Hello,
I have tried to overclock this CPU as I read everywhere that you can get to 3Ghz no problemo. But I only seem to be able to get a very minor OC(about 2.2Ghz).If I go to high the system shuts down then tries to reboot but fails then tries again until it boots back to default.I am very new to CPU overclocking so I dont really know hat I have to change in the bios. But I am thinking that its a bios safety feature that wont let me get to high on the OC.Can someone tell me what would be the best setting(and what features I need to disable in the bios) to get this CPU to 3Ghz.Cheers.Oh I have a Freezer 7 Pro cooler on the CPU.I idle at about 20c on stock speeds.I have P35 DS3R (REV 2.0)mobo.

if you can't get much higher, try upping the stock voltage a tiny bit at a time. If that doesn't work, it is likely that you don't have a pci-bus lock on it, and as it raises the FSB, the PCI raises synchronously till it crashes.

Ok so should I turn the PCI bus lock on,and if so how do I do that with this mobo
