   Hi guys,
   In windows XP, is there a way to make new windows open automatically unmaximised (if thats a word), not minimised, but so they aren't automatically full screen?

   what programs are you trying to do this for?
   
   i have had mixed results with holding down the Ctrl key while clicking the red X in the right-hand corner of the window. Usually works for me.
