I have an old Win 95 HP PC that I'm giving to charity and I need to know how to reformat the HD using F-Disk command I assume? I've never done this before so I would need step-by step instructions. Thank you all in advance for your help with this! I appreciate it very much!

Well to just format the disk boot to Dos mode by pressing the F8 key repeatedly as the PC boots - you will get a menu. Pick the one that says boot to Command Mode only.

You will then see the C:> prompt

    Type FORMAT C:

It will say Are you sure? Type Y and it will format the disk.

You don't really need to Fdisk unless you have other partitions ie a D drive.

If you do then format that FIRST by typing FORMAT D:

when that is done plus any other partions or drives you have finish off with the C: drive.

    HTH :)
