How do I reinstall my OS

It's been awhile now since I started this thread.

After trying a couple of different avenues with trying to fix this (and other) problems I have now decidede to bite the bullet and reinstalled the operating system.

I'm back here because I've somehow managed to stuff this up too (not too badly).

    Here is what I did:
I have a second HDD with more Gb so I physically changed the 2 HDDs around so I can use the bigger HDD as the main one (where the OS will be running from). Now the bigger HDD is the master drive. And the original C: is the second drive (slave). Hope this made sense! That was completed with no troubles.

Then I unpartitioned the new slave drive so I don't get into more trouble while reinstalling WinXP. This way I can't confuse myself (easily done ), I only have the C: drive to worry about. I can partition the 2nd drive to use as storage later once everything is running fine.

While installing WinXP, somehow I've managed to install WinXP twice on the C:... doh

What I'm after from you smart computer savvy guys (that's right, I'm brown nose'ing) is to guide me through on completely reformating and creating a new partition so I can start fresh with the WinXP install.

    Waiting with anticipation for replies!!
    Ben

edit: Sorry I just noticed that this is in the 'Malware...' forum. Should I start a new thread in the 'software' forum?

tip from me if you have a second drive installed, unhook that just by pulling power cable until you have installed XP on the main new C: drive, once completed plug it back in, but if you had a previous OS on the other now 2nd drive and wish to access the data on it ( possibly before formatting and partitioning it as a data drive ) you may need to take ownership of the files and folders on that drive if you cannot access them, to do this follow this http://support.microsoft.com/kb/308421

Will I need to get the motherboard's driver and reinstall that too after the operating system install? It is an Elite SiS661FX-M.
