I tried installing Oracle VirtualBox-4.1.4-74291-Win and it seems to be, if you click on always install drivers from this company when it's installing it's many driver modules it locks up my PC. Now Is there a way to remove a company/driver from the trusted drivers list ?

    Hi,

I am unfamiliar with the Oracle software, and since no one else wanted to make an idiot of themselves i will have and its only a guess mind you... to try and help...

There must be a Trusted sites / drivers type list somewhere in your operating system which is ?? a list of trusted sites and or drivers to install.

I could be way of base, but the option maybe associated with your browser or I dont know even firewall .. I once had a friends P.c that wouldnt run a game because a setting in Internet explorer wasnt configured..good grief - and the p.c had never been online....who would've thought that would stop a game which had online and offline options from running.. took me about 40 mins to figure this one :(

    My take -
    Google your operating system
Find out where the list of trusted sites is kept and how to edit these.
    It is there somewhere...

or Maybe you can repair or remove the oracle install and perchance complete the same install again, perhaps partial corrupt install in the first instance..

Sorry cant be of any real help..:wave

    G luck

    Thanks for the reply.
    I'm running Windows 7 X64
Tried to Google it but almost all that gets found is about the trusted installer in windows 7.
I've gone as far as removing all references to Oracle,VB, Virtualbox, from the registry manually using Registry workshop.

Just in case you hadn't resolved your issue, or anyone else is looking for the solution. I did the following to Remove a Company from the Trusted Ones, thus bringing back the Pop Up when installing Drivers from said Company.

    Run mmc.exe found in C:\Windows\System32

-Click File, then Add/Remove Snap-in. In the Add/Remove Snap-in box, click the Add button, select Certificates

-Yet another dialog box will open, with three choices. Select Computer account and click Next. Select Local computer (the computer this console is running on) and click Finish. Now close the Add Standalone Snap-in box. In the Add/Remove Snap-in box, click Okay. That returns you to the certificate-management console.

-In the left-hand pane of the console, you should now see Certificates (Local Computer) with a small + next to it. Click on the + to expand your selection. You’ll now see numerous folders, one of them will be Trusted Publishers.

-Click on it and click on the certificates folder underneath. You should now see a list of certificates in alphabetical order. Select the company you want to "untrust" and delete the certificate for it.

You will now see the pop up for this company whenever you want to install a driver from it.

I needed this functionality as I was writing a Getting Started Manual and I needed to take a screenshot of this Dialog but since I had already clicked the "Always Trust Software from xxxxx" checkbox, the dialog was no longer there.

I hope it helps somebody else.
