I have a few media players on my computer (OS is XP Home) but the Power DVD program delivers the best audio autput. Is there a setting in XP that will make this sound driver the default selection?
The other players I use are Zoom, WMP, and Maximus.

Your system only contains one sound driver. All your media players use this one driver. PowerDVD sounds best because of the way it is set up to process audio using its own settings. The other players can't use PowerDVD's settings. You have to configure each players sound settings individually to get the sound the way you like it.

    Hi

Drivers and setting an application as in a media player are two differing things, to set PowerDVD to play your media try HERE and set Program Access and Defaults (you need to be at at least SP1a for XP)

At times some applications may not be in the list so the next option is to right click one of the media file types (say .avi) and then right click and choose Open With and set PowerDVD as the default app.

    Thanks for both those suggestions.
