how do i turn off my roughter firewall

    my linksys wireless broadband (wireless-B) roughter has a built in firewall, how do i deactivate it, i want to keep using the one i payed for it does a much better job

    i tried to go to iexplorer and type in the ip 192.168.1.1 (default gateway) and it asked me for a user name and password that i never once set up...any help would be usefull i know i didnt give much to work with, but i dont have much to work with...im not too knowledgeable on internet/networking compared to hardware

    Use the hardware firewall, it is much harder for hackers to break through it. It is your first line of defense, some here even use it as an only line of defense. Here is a link to Linksys support. http://www.linksys.com/support/support.asp?action=search
    I believe the default name is "admin" or "administrator" , and the password is left blank(you can add one in the options). You should have a help option then if you still want to shut off the NAT firewall
