    I downloaded this software from your site, now that I want to uninstall I'm having a problem.

    Neither can be found on the Add/Remove list and when I searched the Kaspersky Lab Tool Folder,I found an application unins000, clicked on it and I receive the error msg;

    File C:/Documents and settings\all users\Desktop\Kaspersky Lab Tool\uins000.dat cannot be opened. Cannot unistall

    Please Help:cry

    Welcome to Major Geeks....

    GData AntiWorm is a stand-alone program, meaning that it doesn't install. That's why you don't see it in Add/Remove Programs. To remove it, just send it to the recycle bin. On the other hand, Kasperky's AV Tool is a nightmare to uninstall. I have only used it twice, and both times it was harder to remove than the viruses it is designed to clean. I will never use it again, or recommend it, EVER. There have been several posts here at Major Geeks about the Kaspersky uninstall issues (some were posted by 'yours truly') and I'm a bit surprised that Kaspersky hasn't dealt with with this yet (they're supposedly a good company, but I have my own opinions on that) and I'm surprised that Major Geeks still has it as a download; there should at least be a warning that uninstalling may be almost impossible. Both times I had to remove it required booting to a PECD (like the UBCD4Win) and manually removing all the files from the hard drive. Then rebooting in safe mode to remove any registry keys left behind. Major pain-in-the-a**. Hopefully someone has found a better way to remove it.....
    Good luck!

    Hi ..wasnt sure how to post on here so here goes...completly uninstalled kaspersky 2010 version!! took me about a month.go into the control panel-do NOT click on uninstall choose "modify"!! click on every setting to pull down options click on the last option with all settings that has the red x on it to enable...lol cant remember what it was called but its the only one with the x on it. Save all those settings and it will come up "installing" the settings then follow the promts and then while still in the control panel do a complete uninstall then restart and it works believe it or not, Thank God!!!:major maybe kaspersky designed it that way so maybe after the 30 trial period ends and most cannot uninstall they have to purchase it to work properly good buisness..uhh not! not impressed and will never use kaspersky again!!!hope it works for you guys!

    tanyanewell33, the thread is over 15 months old; I'm sure dlb did not have Kaspersky 2010 installed on the computer in question.
