   i have a laptop with XP on it i want to wipe it out to fatory settings with just xp but i dont have the reinstall disc how do i go about wiping it out?

   Create a boot disc ....reboot with disc and at a prompt cd/c format

   what kind of laptop is it? some computer manufacturers now put their restore software on another partition on the hard drive.

   If you don't have the disc or a partition to reinstall XP then there is not much you can do till you get one.
