how do i remove some of the programs that start up when my computer does, i have a whole bunch of stuff that comes up that dosnt need too

what OS do you have?

 

Win Xp home

 

couple of choices
A: go into each program that you dont want opening and go into its options, should be something in there what has a check beside "start with windows"
or
B: click on Start/Run type msconfig then go to Startup and deselect all the ones you dont want started when windows loads

A word of caution if you use msconfig to disable startup items:

DO NOT disable any startup items without first knowing what program they are linked to and what the item actually does. Disabling a wrong item could lead to many other serious problems and lots of extra headaches.
