   how do i check to see if my sound is enabled in my operating system?

   Check Device Manager for any yellow ! marks near sound devices.
   
   Check the Sounds and Audio Devices settings in Control Panel > Audio tab > then check in the dropdown box Sound Playback > Default Device is actually there and chosen.
   
   also click under Speaker Settings check volume and click Advanced and choose your speaker setup.
   
   then play a Sound.
   
   Also did you do any of this http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=81661 to install your driver?
   
   are your speakers ok?
